Katowice – it is a very diverse young city with an interesting urban layout. It is the heart of over two-million metropolis. Thanks to our guide you will discover the original pre-war buildings from the end of the IXX in the Kattowitz, conceptual changes of Stalingrad, or modernist buildings from the interwar period, when the city was the capital of the Autonomous Silesian Voivodeship. Being in Katowice at the Metallica concert in 1996, from the terraces of the legendary “Spodek” you could peek at the miners heading for a night shift in the “Katowice Mine”. Today, „shaft Warsaw” won’t take us underground, but it can take us to the observation deck from which you can admire the Culture Zone – a revitalized post-mining space which includes such buildings as: National Polish Radio Orchestra Concert Hall, Conference Center, and “New Silesian Museum” – architectural pearls repeatedly awarded in contests for their unique design.
